Muscat International Airport - The Gateway of Oman to the World
Muscat International Airport is one of the most significant achievements of the Blessed Renaissance. Officially inaugurated in November 2019, it is located in the Wilayat of Seeb. The airport currently has an annual capacity of 20 million passengers, with the potential to expand to 56 million in future phases. It features a 90-room hotel, 59 aircraft stands, and parking facilities for over 7,000 vehicles.
The passenger terminal spans 580,000 square metres and is divided into three wings. The airport is equipped with 118 airline check-in counters and 82 immigration counters operated by the Royal Oman Police. The terminal also includes two dedicated gates for large aircraft, such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747, connected via passenger boarding bridges.
The baggage handling system features ten conveyor lines—eight for international flights and two for domestic flights—with a capacity to process 5,200 bags per hour along a total conveyor length of 7 kilometres.
The terminal is further equipped with 40 passenger boarding bridges serving 29 waiting lounges, along with 16 additional lounges for passengers transported to and from aircraft by bus when necessary. The airport also includes 29 aircraft stands directly connected to the terminal and 30 additional remote stands.
