Sohar Airport - The Gateway for Cargo and Transport in Oman
Sohar International Airport, inaugurated on 18 November 2014, plays a vital role in Oman's aviation network, serving as an alternative to Muscat International Airport in emergencies. Operating under the IATA code "OHS", the airport has an annual passenger capacity of 70,000.
Designed to enhance the passenger experience, the airport features a 1,200-square-metre terminal, four passenger boarding bridges, and seven check-in counters.
Its infrastructure includes a 4-kilometre-long, 75-metre-wide main runway, capable of accommodating large aircraft. Additionally, the airport is equipped with a 37-metre-high air traffic control tower featuring state-of-the-art technology to ensure flight safety and efficient air traffic management.
