The Executive Council Meeting (55) of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission in Muscat (21-22) December 2016
The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) hosted the work of the 55th Meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission in Muscat during (21-22) December 2016 headed by Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali Al Zaabi - CEO of PACA as Chairman of the Executive Council for the current session (2016-2018).
The meeting was held with the participation of the heads of civil aviation and delegations from (9) Arab countries in addition to the Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission and in the presence of a representative of the League of Arab States. It discussed the most important common issues in the field of civil aviation between the Arab countries such as air transport, air navigation, aviation safety, aviation security and the environment to keep up with the rapid developments in the field of civil aviation. The civil aviation sector is one of the most developed sectors in the world, which requires more work among the Arab countries to unify the visions and the need for coordination and harmonization to develop the Arab civil aviation system.
It worth mentioning that the Executive Council is considered as the Board of Directors of the Arab Commission, which monitors the implementation of the resolutions of the General Assembly and monitors the implementation of its plans and programs, in addition to taking all means to achieve the objectives of the Commission and develop the services it performs. Further, its role is to study the challenges facing the civil aviation sector in the Arab countries to work on its improvement and development and to propose the programs and budget of the Commission.
