The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) signed on Monday, 25 March 2019, at the State Council headquarters in Muscat, the air transport agreement between the Sultanate and the Czech Republic. The agreement was signed from Oman side by HE.Dr Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali Al Zaabi - Chief Executive of PACA, and the Czech side, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic HE. Juraj Kudelka.

The signed agreement is based on the principles of the open skies, which allows the airlines of both countries to operate any number of flights between the Sultanates airports and the Czech Republic via any intermediate points and points beyond the two countries. Thereby, allowing Oman national carriers (Oman Air and Salam Air) to extend their operational networks to the Czech Republic. Also, this will attract Czech airlines to operate direct flights to the Sultanate or exchange codes with other carriers. The agreement allows airlines of both countries to establish cooperative relationships for sharing common symbols between their carriers or with any airlines in other countries.

The agreement contains (26) articles for the regulation of technical and operational matters in addition to a unique annexe to the air routes between the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that, the Sultanate is currently linked with similar bilateral agreements in the field of the regulation of air transport services with more than 100 countries around the world to regulate the operation of airlines between the Sultanate and these countries. Given this, PACA seeks to increase air traffic rights between the Sultanate and the various countries around the world.
