The National Inspectors' Course and on-the-job quality control training sessions commenced today in the Sultanate of Oman, hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority from 3 to 14 November 2024, with the participation of several sisterly and friendly nations from the region.

The course aims to introduce aviation security management officials and specialists to the security principles of quality control and the key elements of airport security oversight. It includes field visits based on continuous monitoring principles under the ICAO Global Aviation Security Audit Programme.

Notably, this course has been organised by the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in collaboration with the organisation’s headquarters (HQ, ISD-SEC) and the Cooperative Aviation Security Programme in the Middle East (CASP-MID). Through this initiative, the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, seeks to enhance security and safety standards, elevate the level of training and qualification in aviation security, align with international standards, and foster cooperation between countries.
