As part of its efforts to develop the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate of Oman, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) today announces an investment opportunity for the operate and manage of the Aircraft Maintenance Facility at Muscat International Airport. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2025.

The project is characterized by state-of-the-art buildings and facilities, enabling the maintenance of various types of aircraft, including wide-body aircraft such as the A380, which is one of the largest aircraft in the world. The project aims to meet the needs of the global market as international air traffic is expected to grow, especially in the wake of the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through this project, Civil Aviation Authority seeks to establish Oman as an important regional center for the aircraft maintenance sector in the Middle East, taking advantage of its strategic location between the global aviation markets in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Civil Aviation Authority invites specialized companies interested in participating in the operation and management of the facilities to contact (mro@caa.gov.om). Interested companies will be provided with a list of the required initial data to be submitted.

The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 5pm Muscat time (GMT+4). Companies can also inquire about the investment opportunity via email until Thursday, November 21, 2024. Civil Aviation Authority will provide applicants with the opportunity to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP) tender based on the submitted data, which will contribute to selecting the best offers for the operation and management of the MRO facilities.
