Next Sunday... Twentieth Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Regional Air Traffic Monitoring Agency for the Middle East
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, will host the 20th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Regional Air Traffic Monitoring Agency for the Middle East. The meeting, organised in cooperation with the ICAO Regional Office and the Regional Air Traffic Monitoring Agency for the Middle East, will take place from 10 to 11 November 2024 with the participation of ICAO Middle East Regional Office and 15 member countries of the Agency.
The meeting aims to review the outcomes of the 19th Agency Board meeting, the recommendations and decisions of the 21st meeting of the Middle East Regional Air Navigation Planning and Implementation Group (MIDANPIRG/21), and discuss a range of technical topics. Key topics include responsibilities and tasks related to evaluating air navigation performance in the Middle East, as well as updates on the Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) Programme and monitoring horizontal safety levels for aircraft to reduce the vertical safe separation distance between aircraft.
It is worth noting that the Regional Air Traffic Monitoring Agency for the Middle East was established in 2005 with the membership of ICAO regional countries in the Middle East and is headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is managed by a specialised team that conducts various Agency tasks, including preparing periodic studies and reports on system analysis, operational safety risk data for all regions, and aviation information for Middle Eastern countries, in line with ICAO standards for vertical separation between aircraft.
